And we say we are technically advance..

Okay, aren't we proud of the innumerable Indian engineers working in the foreign land earning name and fame? Don't we raise our collars when we get to know about a certain researcher of Indian origin makes a mark at NASA? Yes, we are proudly heading as the technically advance nation, if you want brainys Indians are the most sought-ed people. We come under the intellectual class.
But where has the intellectualism gone? Some time back North India was hit by an extreme power failure. Hell, even when there is sufficient amount of energy available it is wasted by lighting street lights at 4 p.m. What is the point of being technically advanced when you can't fulfill the basic needs of the common man?
Coming to first basic need, FOOD. How many people actually get proper meals three times a day? And we all see the newspapers flooded with news about hunger driven people found dead. The Government started the mid day meal concept in schools long time back but we all know where the grains go? And where does the hard earned money of people snatched away as taxes go? THANK YOU GOVERNMENT
Second basic need, CLOTHING. When elections are round the corner, every minister is seen distributing shawls, saris, blankets to the poor. After that, what? You are left with nothing. They are here only to make empty promises. THANK YOU GOVERNMENT
SHELTER. You and me are lucky to have a roof but not all our that lucky. So many poverty stricken people sleep on road sides, footpaths, railway stations. Some are even found sleeping by the stinking nalas. Does the Government care? Hell, no. When SP was campaigning for elections in U.P, MSY clearly said he'd be providing employment and laptops to the students. This statement made him catch easily on votes and unfortunately UP again came under the prey of some of the most corrupt ministers. I would really like to know how many actually got employed in their 150 day reign. When you can't provide proper infrastructure to the country, how can we think of anything else? You have been an utter failure in the name of CM, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, like father, like son. Anyway, THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.
Now that we really are unable to suffice the most common needs, how can we even talk about other  necessities like medical facility, electric supply, water supply, roads, transportation. Don't these things fall under technical stuff?  And still we say we are technically advance but in the end I'd like to add on the sarcasm once again, THANKS A TON GOVERNMENT :)

Boom of budding authors in Present times

I am already in love with this space. It's a great platform to get exposure to one's writing skills and venting out one's feelings. As a person who enjoys writing since childhood, I feel there has been a drastic change in the opinion of public towards writers. Many people plunged into this field like today but only a few got to the apex. But today with the changing scenario we have seen a boom in the count of youth Indian writers. Thanks to Chetan Bhagat and of course recession wherein after losing their jobs many people turned to writing for livelihood.
Just like the two faces of coin, writing has brought in a lot of competition   in the market as well. There is a horde of authors, good and bad. Exploitation is as always present here. Often the publishers do not give due respect to the authors, the standard royalty rate of 8-10% has come down to 5%. I have even heard about publishers not responding properly to the authors about the sales figures. The established publishing houses are not ready to give chance to the budding authors while the ones that give chance do not even posses editors, leave alone good editors. the rough manuscript is published as it as. Even the editors are unable to correct the grammatical errors. In a recent book that I read, the single change that the publishing house brought in the manuscript was changing 'hair' to 'hairs'. Amazingly we always studied it as 'hair' in lower classes but then we can't do anything as the author is already indebted to the publisher for getting his book in the print with no capital investment.
If you are a debut author and your work isn't of romantic genre, you might as well become a rolling stone because the expectation from a young Indian author is a love story or another campus life. They have a good reason for you that romance sells anyway but for a debut author  something different may create losses for the house also. They can't take a chance. While a recent interaction with another youth author, I was told that a publisher had once said to her that love, sex, fun and a fresh story line is that sells the most.
These are just a few instances. And of course we can't forget that we all have to be grateful to them as they are the ones providing us bread and butter, the fame we needed and unique identity. All we need is a little more value to our work and little effort from everybody's side to bring out the best for the nation.

BEING HUMAN

Time passes by and we don't even understand how we grow from a kid to teen to a grown up.And in this passage of time we learn lots of lessons from our mistakes,we experience loads of emotional events in our life,we face obstacles and failures,we taste the sweetness of success but all this while what most of forget to learn and imbibe is 'humanity'.Majority of us achieve the heights of professionalism but do we achieve something in the field of humanity?
How many of us have thought about the small kid who sits in the pool of mud at a construction site where his parents have been slogging day and night? Have we ever thought of our maid's baby boy or the gardener's daughter who helps out her father in sowing the seeds just to make our lawns beautiful and colorful?
All of us have big plans for our birthday, party, disc, hang out, everything. But did we ever think about spending some moments with the orphans or these down trodden kids who are most of the time found playing with mud and scrap? I've been observing a whole lot of kids ranging from a few months to five years at the new building that is being constructed in my college and whenever I see them I think how could I ever help these kids. I'm so lucky to be at such a better position. I have good surroundings, good food, good clothes, everything is the best for me.
We have progressed so far, technically but I don't think we have progressed mentally. The labour class is still treated like 'shudras' in the Vedic age even today. Why? Aren't they human beings? Till today people don't let servants enter from the main gate. People don't think twice before buying themselves new apparels but why don't they do the same for the poverty stricken people. India is still a poor country. People say that if they start giving others, how are they going to survive themselves? But in this way will we ever be able to develop? Will this mentality change? Indians are always talking about caste and religion. Every point starts with religion and ends with religion but doesn't religion teach us to 'share and care' ?
Wake up guys. We want Indian Govt to do it all. We blame leaders and politicians, the police and the staff but when have we thought of 'taking a step ourselves'? If the Government hasn't done its duty then there is a question that arises and that is "HAVE WE DONE OUR DUTY AS CITIZENS?"
Come to the second thing because being a citizen is secondary but "BEING HUMAN" is PRIMARY. So do answer this question first "HAVE WE DONE OUR DUTY AS HUMANS?"
IF NOT THEN "WHY NOT?"
And if we couldn't do it till now we still have time, don't we? WE CAN and WE WILL..
IT' TIME TO RISE UP AND DO OUR WORK..AND WHEN WE START WORKING, EVERYONE WILL FOLLOW SUIT
IT'S ALL ABOUT BRINGING THE HUMAN INSIDE YOU
:)
